MEMO RE TR CONFERENCE IN BUFFALO Under the present circumstances of national tragedy, and problems with transportation, we feel that it is necessary to cancel the TR Conference in Buffalo this weekend. We are working to reschedule the conference for next year at the same time. Please cancel your hotel reservations in Buffalo. Your current registration for the copnference will be good for next year. Nearly 100 years ago, the eyes of the nation were fixed on Buffalo, NY and the momentous event that occurred here.
On September 14, 1901, following the
death of President William McKinley,
Theodore Roosevelt was inaugurated the 26th president of the
United States in a simple ceremony.

To commemorate the beginning of Roosevelt's presidency, a major symposium will be held in Buffalo on Friday and Saturday, September 14 & 15, 2001.

The Big Stick and the Square Deal:
The Presidency of Theodore Roosevelt

explores the life and legacy of this
captivating and dynamic president.

Symposium highlights include speakers: Edmund Morris, Sylvia Jukes Morris, Edward J. Renehan, Jr., H. W. Brands, John Milton Cooper, William J. vanden Huevel, John Gable, Kathleen Dalton, and others.
